Meet The Founder

Hi, I am Magdalena. Like yourself, I am a seeker too. I would love to understand more, to take action to feel better, to search and practice modalities that help myself grown, stand tall in my values and also heal parts of myself that need just that.

I envision this platform become one of your favourite “virtual homes” where you and I. Rely on each other to commit our kind voice to express ourselves authentically.

I would love to present on OneKindVoice as much as I can from all those who have supported me on my path so far. I am here to encourage both deep listening and free self-expression with kindness. I might not have complete answers to all there is to seek deep down within oneself, however I can confidently say that once we have started, more paths will open and bloom. Friendships will be formed, new teachers and teachings will be found, community will be born and evolve, a sense of being better will emerge, bringing a lot of goodness together.

This will always remain a dynamic space where we can evolve together as humble students.

I grew up in Eastern Europe and found myself drawn towards Asia and now, after more than 20 years, have built a life in Hong Kong. I am still drawing all my inspiration from my ancestors, the friends and family far from home, and have always been attracted to self-teaching, developing my own coping skills and further understanding whenever life got harder or challenging. One way to do so was reading. I have ‘found myself’ in novels, poems, philosophy, eastern teachings or mystical teachings, reiki and energy work. The journey, or learning through experience, gradually turned into a steady practice of contemplation and silence, of finding my inner space and quieting my mind in nature or in the early morning hours of each day. I simply long for being in solitude at least one hour a day. Sit and do nothing. Listen to nothing. This practice nourishes me in ways that are hard to describe. When adding gratitude to this, while also adding deeper breathing techniques, I slowly began to realize that these are practices I would very much love to pay forward, to share with new seekers, to share with people like me who have been through anxiety, panic attacks, deep losses and sorrow or pain at one time or another. To share what I have learned so far and master together some of the techniques that can be implemented and blended into the fabric of our daily lives.

Practicing only occasionally might have a role to play at a particular moment in time, however, the biggest lesson I’ve learned would be that consistent practice , the determination to trust in oneself, and the power of our own magic resources will open up new avenues of contentment

Why now?

I would love to say that I have gained some wisdom and insight along the way. One could almost say becoming “sage-age”.

Giving honour here first and foremost to my parents, since they were construction engineers. They built factories and houses, and a life for their kids with whatever they had, and always very generously shared with others. I have seen first hand how something is built. You dig first to establish a solid foundation, then add the blocks, the bricks, and the metal framework to form a long lasting structure. Our home took years to build, and it was far from perfect. Its most important feature was to offer a safe shelter for generations to come. We witnessed the sweat and tears that had gone into this. When building a home, you should also consider having a garden and adding your favourite flowers, and then you might add an orchard to give you seasonal fruit. Deep down you also know that there is always a path lit up taking you back to your home, whenever you might need that resource in physical terms or simply visualizing that you are there. To know what it takes to build a foundation has offered me quite an early insight and a lesson in patience, dedication, resilience, and to never focus on the perfect outcome or rush the timeline. You can always take your time to add your personal touch, to keep the space dynamic.

Why using roses in our logo?

Because they grow in almost all our gardens. They make our life beautiful. They also have thorns. They represent beauty and caution to me.

Honouring The Teachers

Why this platform?

I am offering this platform as a live testimonial to my teachers, those sages who wrote wonderful books and promoted a wealth of practices to understand ourselves better so we can become one with our authentic and kind self.

And also, in equal measure, to my direct mentors whose courses I have taken for more than five years now.

As a fresh alumni of Mindfulness Meditation Teaching Program, I am first dedicating the launch of OneKindVoice platform to the founders Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield who have created such a powerful teaching and learning platform. Not only have we been upheld by their powerful presentations, helping us to grow month by month, but we were also supported by so many wonderful mentors and teachers, as well as fellow students and peers from so many traditions and teachings: from buddhist psychology and philosophy, to neuroscience, the practice of metta and loving kindness, compassion and self-compassion, inclusivity and diversity, and non-violent communication – to name just a few key pillars.

Why kind?

Simply because I believe we need more kindness. Simply because we can practice more of it ourselves, towards ourselves and towards everyone we meet during any given day. Simply because it can change your mood, you can touch someone’s life in a very beneficial way without even knowing it. We can make an impact by using our voice kindly. Let’s try to do this as ONE, together.
