Today I chose Mark Nepo to hold me through the stormy day.

From his book “The Half-Life of Angels”

Being True

I thought it was my efforts

In being true that made me

Somewhat wise, but I woke

Today aware of those who have

Loved me, feeling the warmth

Of their tea.

And looking back from this

Plateau, which some call acceptance,

I can see that each polished

A facet of my heart, each

Made-me see-through.

It is being held through

The storm that makes us a gem.
